About Us
A Defining Milestone
Cradled by the hills of Rajakumary, Idukki, Kerala, Modern Bakery was founded in 1983 by Mr. V. V. Kuriakose and Mrs. Mary Kuriakose, rooted in quality, family values, and honest craftsmanship. What began as a small neighbourhood bakery quickly earned trust through home-style flavours and Ammachi’s cherished recipes. In 1993, the first Borma outlet introduced English-style bakes to the region. The 2000s saw an expansion into preservative-free traditional snacks made with local produce and pure coconut oil. Establishing a strong retail and distribution presence through local outlets, supermarkets and across major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi. Over four decades, this commitment to authenticity and hygiene has built lasting trust, allowing Modern Bakery to serve a diverse customer base, from families to premium establishments, all drawn by authentic taste, dependable quality and a legacy rooted in the taste of home.
